The NJ Center on Gun Violence Research recognizes the importance of practice informed research and stakeholder voice to develop sustainable solutions to gun violence. We are hosting a series of Community Engaged Research Days, (March 25th, March 27th and March 30th) to help orient NJ community-based organizations (CBOs) to the concepts of community engaged research and encourage collaboration between Rutgers’ researchers and CBOs who have common interests in conducting research related to gun violence prevention.
CBOs who attend will learn the essentials of research including:
• how to develop and refine research questions
• how to build a proposal
• how to navigate the review process for ethical research.
Faculty who attend will have the opportunity during a networking session to meet and discuss potential research ideas and begin to develop collaborations with interested community organizations.
Grants will be awarded to promising community partner-researcher collaborations through a competitive submission and review process.
Attendance at one of the three events is required to compete for these awards.
