Join us for an Agilent Cell Analysis Virtual Event, October 1, 2020
Sponsored by: Center of Excellence for Pharmaceutical Translational Research and Education
Metabolism lies at the epicenter of cellular function. Environmental stimuli, stress responses and changes to normal cellular function route through metabolism pathways that include catabolic and anabolic metabolism. Consequently, measuring these pathways can provide valuable early insights into cellular, tissue, organ and even whole organism behavior.
The Agilent Seahorse XF Instruments quantify catabolic, energy demanding pathways by interrogating both glycolysis and mitochondrial respiration. These two pathways comprise the majority of produced ATP and contribute to various signaling pathways such as immune cell activation, apoptosis and the production of ribonucleic acids. Thus, measuring glycolysis and mitochondrial function with the Agilent Seahorse XF Analyzer can be used to assess toxicity, cell death, energy demand and expenditure, immune cell fitness, etc.
