A university in the Tri-State area has been selected as a clinical trial site for the global Pfizer-BioNTech COVID vaccine study in children. Rutgers University, the only New Jersey site for the vaccine trial, will enroll as many as 200 kids ages 6 months to 11 years old in the study. Rutgers will enroll 100 children ages 5 to 12 and 50 children each from the age groups 2 to 5 years and 6 months to 2 years out of 4,644 children worldwide. This is the third time Rutgers has served as a COVID-19 vaccine clinical trial site for pharmaceutical companies. Last fall, it conducted trials for Moderna and Johnson & Johnson.
